Welcome to the New Term
To all new students and their parents, welcome to Manningtree High School. To all students in years 8 to 11, welcome back. I hope you have had an enjoyable and enriching summer holiday and are now keen to be back in the classroom.
I join the school after another year of strong GCSE results, with students achieving more A-A* and A*-C grades than ever before. It is my ambition for success to breed more success. Manningtree High is a good school with a dedicated, talented staff who are committed to helping students fulfill their potential. However, we will not rest on our laurels but will be continually looking for new ways to support and challenge our students as they learn. At Manningtree we also help students to develop and excel in ways that are not measured in percentages or GCSE league tables. Our school fosters a fantastic sense of community, belonging and mutual respect. It also encourages students to be reflective, charitable and inclusive citizens.
So, it is easy to see why I am feeling both excited and hugely privileged to be taking on the role of Head. A new job for me, a new face in the school, a new term for us all. Let’s make this term an excellent one.
The fourth Annual General Meeting of Manningtree High School Academy Trust will take place on Tuesday, 8th December 2015 at 8.30pm.
